Friends -
I have a special mission and need your help.
A good friend of mine, Amy Patwa, passed away this fall at age 34 after an inspirational fight against breast cancer. Amy & her husband, Eric, have a precious 3 year old named Charis.
Adam has been without work for quite some time, and I have volunteered to keep Charis' closet stocked with seasonal clothing for as long as I am fortunate to have the job.
I have named my mission "Charis' Closet" …. and am specifically looking for girl clothing "hand me downs" in sizes 4T to 10 years of age.
Trying to be a good stewart of our finances, I am also on a "coupon cutting mission" and for every dollar that I save (using a coupon) at Harris Teeter or Target, I put into a "Charis Clothing Fund." So far, that has really added up and the fund has over $100 from just this past month! It is easy to track also, because the Harris Teeter and Target put the savings at the bottom of my receipts!
Here are ways we need your help …
- Donate gently used girl clothing sizes 4-10 without rips / tears or stains
- You may call / email & I will come and pick them up from you
- Consider saving your coupons from the Sunday Paper
- The more I "clip" the more I "save" and the more I will have in Charis' Closet fund to purchase NEW items such as socks / shoes / undergarments
- Additionally, if food item coupons are "Buy One get One Free" - we will give the "free" grocery item one to Adam & Charis
- If you are a consigner, and typically sell your better children's clothing, would you mind giving me first option to purchase them for Charis from the fund?
- You can email me when you have a "load" and I can come by your house and select items we need for that particular season.
Thank you for your help in whatever form you can provide!
Warmly,
Lori Martin
